Stephen Curry (GS) – Curry tops our point guard rankings on Wednesday night. Houston is a good defensive team and Patrick Beverley is a pest, but Curry has averaged 23.5 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists in the last two matchups against Beverley while playing 35 minutes per game. The minutes per game is the key for Curry as he’s averaged just 32.9 minutes per game on the season. Curry’s minutes are down even further in January (31.8) due to an extended home stand where the Warriors have been blowing out teams consistently this season. Vegas has the Warriors as eight point favorites which gives some hope for the game staying close. I think Curry approaches 35 minutes and on sites like DraftKings where he’s priced closely to other top point guards, I think he’s a viable cash game play.
High Priced Value Plays:
John Wall (WAS) – Wall’s price tag is deflated around the industry after an extended road trip and a few blowouts in home games. He’s posted some significant home/road splits in his career and he’s playing in a projected close game (Wizards are a 1.5 point favorite) with a high total (205.5). The Thunder also rank 24th in defensive efficiency against point guards and play at the 10th fastest pace in the league. It’s a great matchup for Wall and the price tag around the industry is quite compelling. I think he’s a very strong value play this evening.
