Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings
Russell Westbrook (SAC)/Stephen Curry (GSW) – Westbrook and Curry are the top projected scorers in this slate, but they both face similar challenges. The Oklahoma City Thunder have locked up the three seed in the Western Conference, and with nothing to play during the last couple of games in the regular season, we’ll likely see Westbrook’s minutes scaled back. The Golden State Warriors have already locked the number one seed, and the only thing they’re playing for at this point is trying to capture the best record in NBA history. Westbrook has the softer matchup (Sacramento is ranked 23rd in defensive efficiency, and they’re allowing the third most assists per game and eight most steals to PGs), and he’s a player that likes to wreak havoc in transition (second most transition possessions in the NBA and he’s generated the most points in transition out of any player this season) while Sacramento has allowed the second most transition points in the league. We think he can generate more value in due to his matchup, but the projected value for Curry is nearly the same. There are a couple of strong point per dollar options at the position that will cost you around $5,000 on DraftKings, and while we’re comfortable investing in those point guards for cash games, Westbrook and Curry are playable that format if you’re willing to stomach the risk in their playing time.
