Week 17 of the EPL season is here, that also means 4 days ’til Christmas. So as always, lets get right into it once again.  Jerzeydevil  here with my weekly write up for you great soccer fans. The write up this week is for the EPL to SB Satellite (Step1) over at StatClash.  Remember you don’t have to join that contest, there are plenty of other games on the board at this time.  It’s very clear that if you are an EPL fan, or just a soccer fan in general, these guys have you covered every single weekend of action.  So make sure you’re following these selections and have some skin in the game each Saturday morning.

Remember you don’t have to join that contest, there are many other games on the board.

SIMON MIGNOLET (Liverpool) $22.75  Mignolet has been solid this season in net for Liverpool. Actually, Liverpool has kinda been a surprise so far this season sitting in 2nd place. Seems like they are finally putting together a great run at the EPL championship. Mignolet is 3-1-1 in his last 5 games, but at home he is 5-0. This week Liverpool is at home against Cardiff City and with that look for Mignolet and Liverpool to get the win, most important i believe you could see a shutout as well.

David DE GEA (Manchester United) $22.50  The last time I had De Gea in my writeup he was just flat out terrible and because of that he cost me from winning that week. I’m going to give him another shot at it. I’m hoping he will have a great day as he had last week when United won and De Gea got the shutout to rack up 18 points. United this week is at home hosting West Ham United. I don’t see any reason why Manchester can’t win this game and possible get another shutout.

ASMIR BEGOVIC (Stoke City) $21.50  I was just looking at all the keepers that you can choose from this week and was just a bit surprised by the good stats that Begovic actually has for being on a team that isn’t the greatest. Stoke City is 2-2-1 in their last 5 games with 6 goals being scored on them and even with that Begovic still has good stats. Stoke it at home this week against Aston Villa. This should be a good game as both teams are even in talent. Look for a low scoring game with Begovic hopefully making the difference in net.

PABLO ZABALETA (Manchester City) $14.50  Man defenders have been so frustrating this year for me. Seems like who ever I play doesn’t do anything, but they will do well when I don’t have them in my lineup. Zabaleta has been playing well. The one thing that is standing out right now at me is he has been getting assist on goals lately. 3 out of his last 5 games Zabaleta has had assist. He also has been crossing the ball well lately as well. City has been on a roll lately and with even being on the road this week against Fulham they should get the job done and score a few goals. Hopefully Zabaleta will be in on the action.

MATHIEU DEBUCHY (Newcastle) $14.75  Last week Debuchy was in my lineup and i’m rolling with him again. He isn’t scoring or getting assist but he is crossing the ball a lot. Debuchy managed 9 crosses last week against Chelsea. This week Newcastle is on the road against Crystal Palace which is at the bottom of the table. There is no doubt in my mind that Debuchy can can match what he did last week and probably even better that.

MARTIN OLSSON (Norwich City) $14.25  My last defender is one that I have never mentioned before. Thinking back not sure if I have ever had anyone from Norwich City mentioned before. Olsson hasn’t set the board on fire when it comes to points, but at least he hasn’t  had any negative points. He also isn’t one that gets goals, assist or even shots on goal. What he does do is cross the ball well. So with Norwich playing last play Sunderland this week Olsson should get his crosses in. Maybe there is that chance that Olsson can get more then that beings he is playing against such a bad team.

YAYA TOURE (Manchester City) $19.00  Here we go again with Toure in my writeup. Right now its just so hard to keep him out as he has just been on fire. Last week Toure was in my lineup and he didn’t let me down as he scored in that whooping City put on Arsenal. Another reason I like him this week is he got some rest in midweek when he wasn’t in the lineup for the league cup game. City is on the road at Fulham this week but that shouldn’t matter as they will score goals.

DANNY WELBECK (Manchester United) $14.00  Here is a midfielder that you can put in your lineup to same you some money that shouldn’t disappoint you if you want to go big on strikers. Now depending on the lineup United goes with you could see Welbeck up front also, but he is still listed at Midfield. Last week Welbeck scored 2 goals in United’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa. This week United is at home against West Ham which hasn’t played well on the road this season.

DAVID SILVA (Manchester City) $20.50  Ok here we go, 2 players on the same team and position. I just can’t help it as City has been on fire raking in the goals. Silva has been part of scoring as well. Silva got in on the score fest last week, come to think of it, who didn’t. Silva also scored back on the 10th in the Champions league game. With the way City is scoring i’m expecting them to keep it up this week against a very bad Fulham team.

LUIS SUAREZ (Liverpool) $25.00  Now listen to what I have to say here. I don’t care how you do your lineup, but you better have Suarez in your lineup. Find anyway possible to get him in there. Right now hands down he is the best striker in soccer. In Suarez’s last 5 EPL games he has 8 goals, 7 assist, 21 shots on goal, and 15 crosses. He is averaging almost 18 fantasy points over them games. Last week he 26.80 points. Liverpool is at home this week against Cardiff City and i’m expecting Suarez to add to his totals.

GARY HOOPER (Norwich City) $14.50  Find a new striker to mention in my writeup. I’ll do whatever I can do have players in my lineup that are going to score goals that week. I know people look for a little bit of everything from there players but when it comes to strikers I want GOALS!!! Now does it work out all the time? No. Hooper has been goalscorer for Norwich City lately. He has scored in back to back games and has 3 goals in his last 5 games. Even with Norwich on the road this week, I like Hooper’s chances of scoring against the worst team in the EPL.

SERGIO AGUERO (Manchester City) $23.00  Yep you got it, another City player. There is no way I was keeping Aguero out. Aguero has 5 goals in his last 5 games. He has been getting plenty of fantasy points during this stretch. I know Aguero has helped me out big over the last few weeks when I’ve had him in my lineup. Just like I mentioned above, with the way City is playing and given the way Fulham has been playing, we could see an explosion of goals again.

This concludes this weekends writeup. As always, I hope you find it helpful when putting your team together. Good luck & enjoy your weekend of EPL DFS at StatClash!  – JD
