EPL DFS Weekend

EPL DFS Weekend
DAILY FANTASY RUNDOWN
Print Friendly

Good day, mates!! Once again Jerzeydevil here with my weekly write up for you great soccer fans. The last few weeks I have done well with the selection of players I’ve chosen and included in these write ups, so lets keep it rolling. This Saturday’s games are going to be interesting and it’s going to be challenge finding special players to separate your line up from the rest of the pack, as only a few of the big teams are playing on Saturday.  As always, all the prices are from StatClash. What I like most about the guys at  StatClash is that they are providing EPL DFS players with an extensive list of games to play, you’re not just stuck picking from one or two games.  Check it out!

Keepers:

ARTUR BORUC (Southampton) $23.75  Boruc has been playing well in the net this year. Over the last 5 EPL games, he’s put up some good numbers for fantasy players. However, last week was a bit of a let down for Boruc as he managed only 3 points. I’m looking for that nice rebound game this weekend as Southampton host Hull City. Hull City is 0-3 in there last 3 road games.  Boom.

PETR CECH (Chelsea) $23.75 Cech is a keeper that you love to have in your net as he always seems to get the job done for you. Yes, I know his numbers have dropped a bit this year, but he’s still a solid keeper and is a bit undervalued this week with Chelsea hosting West Bromwich. West Brom has been playing decent ball this year but they don’t have the chops to deal with Chelsea at home. Cech should end up with decent fantasy points this week, so give him a look.

DAVID MARSHALL (Cardiff City) $22.50 Man, I don’t know how I’ve missed out on Marshall over the last few weeks. Marshall has some very good numbers over his last 5 games. There was only 1 game that he was terrible in and that was against Chelsea on Oct 19th. Back on Oct 26th, Marshall recorded 10 saves in a 0-0 tie against Norwich City, which gave him 28 fantasy points. In this weeks game, Cardiff is on the road at Aston Villa, in what could end up being one of those games that results in a huge amount of saves – and that’s what we want.

Defenders:

This is one position that’s been difficult to get a handle on this year.  In past write ups, I’ve done my best to recommend players with favorable match ups, but in the end, haven’t taken advantage of those opportunities. Here’s to turning it up this week.

WINSTON REID (West Ham) $15.00  Looking into his stats, I noticed Reid scored back in October – which is big for a defender.  Any time you get offensive production out of your defenders, you’re going to be fist pumping.  He’s a defender that doesn’t get a lot of fouls called against him and he has only received 1 yellow card this season. West Ham is on the road against Norwich City with a great chance of winning the game outright.  Reid is going to play a big role in that result, so give him a look.

JOHN TERRY (Chelsea) $16.00  Terry is the defensive inspiration for Chelsea. While he’s a seasoned veteran (read: dude is old), he’s still a solid player that puts his heart on the line every game. This is one defender that needs to be in a line up if you have space. Terry has a goal and an assist this year along with 11 shots. This is what we are looking for in a defender. With Chelsea playing at home this week against West Brom, look for Terry to be in the action.

LEIGHTON BAINES (Everton) $20.00  Baines is the heart and soul of Everton’s defense. Baines has 2 goals on 9 shots this season in 10 games. He’s only taken 2 yellow cards with a measly grand total of 6 fouls called against him. Baines is another defender I like to have in my line up all the time. Everton is on the road this week but it’s against a bad Crystal Palace team. Hopefully Baines can get you the points you need to pepper the leaderboards.

Midfield:

JAY RODRIGUEZ (Southampton) $16.50  Typically when I’m writing about a player from Southampton it’s Lallana, but not this week. Rodriguez has been really stepping it up lately. In his last 5 EPL games he has 3 goals, 1 assist, and 7 shots on goal – a fantastic stat sheet over 5 games. Last week he found the back of the net for the second straight week and I look for him to keep up his great play this week as Southampton host Hull City.

STEVEN GERRARD (Liverpool) $18.50 Up until last week, Gerrard had a great run going, recording some fine fantasy points. He had 2 goals and 2 assist in his last 3 games before being shut out last week against Arsenal. Look for the big bounce back this weekend when Liverpool host Fulham.

EDEN HAZARD (Chelsea) $20.00  He’s a midfielder that you probably won’t find a lot of people talking about (BOOM!). But let me tell ya, he’s having a solid year for Chelsea. Now, I will admit he goes in spurts – might not do much for a game or 2, then gets it going again.  I get that.  A few weeks ago Hazard had 2 goals and an assist against Cardiff City. That came on the heels of a 1 goal game just prior to that outing. He cooled off a bit, but I think he will find it again against West Brom this weekend.

Strikers:

LUIS SUAREZ (Liverpool) $25.50 Suarez is a hot striker right now. Liverpool did get shut out last week against Arsenal, but before that game, Suarez was lighting it up with 3 goals against West Brom the week before last. In the 5 EPL games this year he has 6 goals, which is very impressive. It will not surprise me at all to see Suarez to get a couple of goals against Fulham this week.

ROMELU LUKKAKU (Everton) $19.50  A few weeks back I did a write up on Lukkaku and he let me down and basically did nothing, the bum. However, when I look at his stats they’re good, so I’m not going to allow one week to put Lukkaku on auto-fade.  He does have 4 goals and an assist in his last 5 EPL games. Everton is on the road this week, but its against last place Crystal Palace. This is a great game for him to get that ball in the back of the net.

DANIEL STURRIDGE (Liverpool) $23.50  I know a lot of people won’t play 2 players from the same team, let alone the same position. But when I look at the match ups this week, I feel Liverpool could score a bunch of goals against Fulham. Sturridge was on a great goal streak – recording 4 goals in 4 EPL games until last weeks action.  On top of the goals he’s recorded recently, he’s had 2 assists and 10 shots on goal. I like Sturridge a lot in the match up this week.

This concludes this weekends writeup. As always, I hope you find it helpful when putting your team together. Good luck & enjoy your weekend of EPL DFS at StatClash!! -JD
