Daily Fantasy Rundown – February 21 NBA DFS Picks and Analysis
Welcome to Sunday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games. Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.
*Any time a player’s salary is reference as a discount or premium, it is relative to the average cost of a roster spot.

Slate Note: The two sites have taken a different approach to Sunday’s slate. DraftKings is featuring all-day contests starting at 3:30 EST and then running a late slate as well for the 6:00 EST. The late swap feature on DraftKings makes it conducive to formatting games this way despite the spread out schedule. FanDuel is featuring contests with a four game early slate and six game late slate (starting at 6:00 PM EST). Our analysis will cover the entire day, but we’ll try to provide some individual context in the recommendations and the additional notes section on slate specific notes as well. We’ve also split the FanDuel cheat sheets into an Early and a Late set in order to help provide clarity for the split slate.
Entertainment Note: If you are unfamiliar with Pau Gasol‘s karaoke skills, please treat yourself while lineup building.
Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Westbrook is in action and Curry isn’t, which makes him clearly the top point guard option on the slate and he projects as our top overall play. Cleveland’s a solid defensive team (eighth in overall defensive efficiency) but they’re most vulnerable to point guards (13th in defensive efficiency). Westbrook’s incredible floor challenges the bands of pricing systems and makes him a perpetually strong cash game play. The question is rarely about his skill, his price, or his matchup but the slate as a whole and whether you can configure a strong supporting cast to justify him in cash games. As currently constructed, it’s a difficult slate to fit him in on DraftKings but on FanDuel’s short slate he’s not difficult to make room for. Westbrook is our top overall projected scorer and by a relatively safe margin.
