Daily Fantasy Rundown – February 6 NBA DFS Picks and Analysis
Welcome to Saturday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games. Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.
Slate Note: Our content does not include coverage of the HOU-POR game that starts at 5:00 EST. If you’re playing from that slate, James Harden is a top shooting guard target but not someone we’d prioritize over the GS-OKC players. C.J. McCollum contends with Klay Thompson as a top overall shooting guard option and is a little cheaper, but we’d generally prefer more exposure to OKC-GS. The game as a whole is more filled with tournament options. The lone exception may be on DraftKings where Gerald Henderson ($3,600) is priced as a punt at a very difficult shooting guard position. Dwight Howard (HOU) is the closest thing to a cash game play, but our preference would be for tournament exposure.
*Any time a player’s salary is reference as a discount or premium, it is relative to the average cost of a roster spot.

Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is FanDuel
Stephen Curry (GS)/Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Let’s start with this Warriors-Thunder game which has an incredible 230 total and is very likely the highest we’ll see all season. These are two of the Top 10 teams in pace and the two best offensive teams in the league by a wide margin. There is some research that suggests the pairing of two high paced teams has an exponential effect on overall pace and this is reflected in the extremely high total. Clearly you want exposure to this game but the game is filled with expensive players so the question is how much and where? Point guard is very deep, as is power forward and small forward, so unfortunately the top ways to access this GS-OKC game all come with some level of opportunity cost on the value side. Thus, we’re leaning on the stability and consistency of points and those tend to come at the position that has the ball in its hands the most consistently. We recommend having one of Curry or Westbrook in your cash game lineups and on softer sites it’s going to be possible to even fit both. While Westbrook’s usage is more concentrated and he contributes in more areas, Curry has the benefit of the softer matchup. Oklahoma City ranks 20th in defensive efficiency against point guards and 11th in overall defensive efficiency while Golden State ranks 14th and third respectively. We project Curry and Westbrook nearly even and are projecting both for over 50 Fantasy points this evening. They not only project as the highest overall scorers on the slate, but strong values.
