Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is FanDuel
John Wall (HOU) – While we don’t consider Wall a core play in cash games this evening, his overall context creates profit potential. Wall’s matchup on the micro level isn’t great (Houston is ranked 10th in defensive efficiency against point guards), but Houston isn’t a very good defensive team overall (25th) and they play at an elevated pace (ranked eighth in pace). Furthermore, one of Houston’s biggest struggles on defense is stopping opposing teams from scoring in transition (allowing a whooping 1.14 points per possession in transition). Wall usually thrives against teams that play at a high pace and struggle in these situations, as he’s averaged 1.07 points per possession in transition. We’re projecting Wall to meet value on both FanDuel and DraftKings, but this matchup could help him enter into his profit potential stage. If you’re paying up for a point guard in cash and/or tournament games, Wall represents your best option at the position.
