Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is FanDuel
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Westbrook gets another matchup with his nemesis Patrick Beverley. The Rockets are a weak defensive team, ranking 23rd in overall defensive efficiency but they rank in the top half (11th) in defensive efficiency against point guards. Westbrook has handled the matchup with ease in the two previous matchups this season (25.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 12.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game) and in five previous regular season matchups he’s averaged 23.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. While Westbrook doesn’t project as strongly as teammate Kevin Durant this evening, he still projects as a solid value with an incredible floor. It’s possible to build around Westbrook and Durant as a pair in cash games and they come with a phenomenal floor but the plethora of mid-range values makes it a challenging decision. Ultimately the decision will come down to Westbrook and a punt center option like Omer Asik or Hassan Whiteside and a value point guard play.
