Daily Fantasy Rundown – March 23 NBA DFS Picks and Analysis

Welcome to Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games.  Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.

*Any time a player’s salary is reference as a discount or premium, it is relative to the average cost of a roster spot.

Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings

Top Play:

Stephen Curry (GS) – Curry draws a difficult matchup with Chris Paul and a Clippers defense that ranks fifth in defensive efficiency against the point guard position.  Curry’s looked a bit more man than machine over the last month (.467 field goal percentage in March is his lowest of the season) and the Warriors beat reporters have suggested Curry may get a few days off to clear his mind and his body in anticipation of the playoffs. The rest is likely to come at the end of this week when the Warriors have a Friday-Sunday-Tuesday stretch that includes a Sunday game against the 76ers at home (giving Curry three days in between games). Despite Curry’s shooting “struggles” of late, he’s eclipsed 50 DraftKings points in five of the last 10 games and 45 in seven of the last 10. He’s still “under-priced” on DraftKings for his expectation as his value threshold (50) is below his average (52.5) but this is the first time in a while we have a few reasons to shy away from investing in Curry. The recent shooting slump plus Chris Paul‘s defense plus the Clippers horrid struggles of late bringing in blowout risk (Warriors are 9.5 point favorites). While Curry projects clearly as the top option at point guard and in the conversation for top overall play, we’d need a few punt values to emerge to consider him an elite cash game target. Curry’s most valuable on DraftKings where the three point bonus routinely adds 2-3 points to his total each night.
