Daily Fantasy Rundown – March 26 NBA DFS Picks and Analysis

Welcome to Saturday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games.  Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.

*Any time a player’s salary is reference as a discount or premium, it is relative to the average cost of a roster spot.

Slate Note: Please note all content today is focused on the 7:00 EST games and beyond. We have not included the IND-BKN game in our analysis since most of the main slates are ignoring it.

Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is FanDuel

Top Play:

Russell Westbrook (OKC) – The Thunder’s top two players are going to give projection systems fits on Saturday. The Spurs are the league’s top rated defense and they suppress scoring across all positions but tonight they’ll be without Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, and LaMarcus Aldridge. The point guard defense gets a boost with Patty Mills over Tony Parker and they still have an above average wing defender in Danny Green, but the defense on the whole should take a hit. How much is the question most projection systems will have a challenge deciphering. Vegas expects a modest drop-off as the Thunder have an implied team total of 108.25 points and are 12.5 point favorites. The concern for the Thunder stars is they have little to play for locked into the third seed and with the Spurs already resting players, we could see a lightened workload for Westbrook and Durant. The price tags, blowout factor, and poor matchup on paper should all contribute to unusually low ownership levels for both Westbrook and Durant. We view them as largely unnecessary cash game targets, but really interesting tournament targets given expected ownership.
