Happy Friday to you all! If you’re reading this it’s possible you’re one of those guys on Twitter proclaiming your abstinence from creating a bracket. Well, I welcome you with open arms. It’s time to look at tonight’s NBA DFS slate on FantasyDraft and it’s an interesting one. Injuries dominate the night, so value is abundant. Here we go…
Let’s start this off with all of the injuries that should allow for value to be found tonight. John Wall has an injured foot, making him questionable. In his place Brandon Jennings ($7,800) should draw the start and at that price, he should be a great option against the Chicago Bulls.
Dwyane Wade is out for the season, meaning two things should happen: Jimmy Butler ($16,300) should see plenty of work to end the season and Denzel Valentine ($8,000) should see a nice uptick in minutes. Both are great options on FantasyDraft tonight. In college and in the pros Valentine has been more of a “do it all” guy than a pure shooter, but that doesn’t bother me one bit thanks to DFS. He’s coming off two straight games of 28 minutes, averaging 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in those contests.
With Isaiah Thomas out tonight, Marcus Smart ($9,800) could see a nice uptick in minutes. He’s a little pricier than the rest of the replacements previously mentioned, but also comes with a better matchup facing off against the Nets.
Tyler Ulis ($11,300) will see big minutes for the Suns the rest of the way with Eric Bledsoe recently shut down. On Wednesday he blew up for 13 points and 13 assists to go along with two steals and a block against the Kings.
Now that value has been discussed, what about the stars? It’s hard not to love the man who I like to call “Spell Check.” Giannis Antetokounmpo ($18,200) has a great matchup tonight going up against the Lakers. While I love his ability to do everything and the consistency that he brings, it’s nearly impossible not to gush over the last time he played against the Lakers (41 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals).
James Harden ($21,100) is an obvious option, but requires picking multiple value choices already listed. He has performed amazing this season and has padded stats against the Pelicans.
Ricky Rubio ($14,300) has seen his price inflate over the last few weeks – that’s because he’s white hot on the court. Over his last six contests he has recorded four double-doubles (included a triple-double) as well as three 20-point games. Rubio is a force to be reckoned with right now and is a great option on FantasyDraft.
Jonas Valanciunas ($9,800) has really been great as of late and has had some material success against the Pistons this season. He’s averaging a robust 24.5 points and 10 rebounds against Detroit who is really struggling to stop anyone’s offense (100+ points allowed in 7 of last 10 games).
Others to consider tonight include Bradley Beal ($15,100), Brook Lopez ($12,700), Otto Porter ($12,300), Nerlens Noel ($10,900), Seth Curry ($11,600) and Reggie Jackson ($10,600).
