Welcome to Sunday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games. Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.
Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Last night, we had the privilege of choosing between a nice group of point guards that projected similarly as top plays. Stephen Curry ended up with a huge night (82.5 DraftKings points), and despite three or four point guards projecting similarly last night, we clearly stated that Curry had the biggest upside at the position. Well, it’s more of the same today, but Russell Westbrook is taking Curry’s spot as the top play. More importantly, there’s no one else that projects close to Westbrook this evening. Let’s get rid of all the negatives first. There is blowout potential here (the Thunder are 12 point home favorites) and there’s a pretty substantial gap in talent between these two teams. Additionally, Westbrook is priced fairly (for the most part) around the industry, so you won’t get to buy him at discounted costs. Even with all of this, there’s a reasonable chance that Westbrook is able to meet/exceed his value thresholds. The matchup is simply too good.
