Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is FanDuel
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Westbrook is the top play at the point guard position but the price tag is rising rapidly on most sites and the matchup against a slow paced and historically strong defensive team in Memphis is a really challenging one. Memphis plays at the fourth slowest pace in the league and historically they’ve been very good defensively. This season they’ve slipped to 24th in defensive efficiency against point guards and 27th in overall defensive efficiency. We’re leaning a bit more on the historical data with Memphis because they’ve been so good for so long, but there are cracks in the profile that could allow Westbrook’s upside to shine through. The one thing we know with Memphis is they slow down pace and possessions. With Westbrook playing his third game in four days and on a back-to-back, we’d want possessions maximized to give ourselves the best chance at approaching his value thresholds. The price point is more favorable on FanDuel ($11,400) than DraftKings ($12,200) so if you’re going to invest it’s more likely on FanDuel.
