Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Despite his expensive price tag and a healthy Kevin Durant, Westbrook remains a great per dollar value on DraftKings. Even with Durant on the floor this season, Westbrook is averaging a monstrous 1.46 DraftKings points per minute (from NBAWowy.com). That puts him right on top his value threshold, on average, in 34.5 minutes, which is right in line with his season long average. Further stabilizing Westbrook’s value, aside from the fair price, is the game environment. The OKC-ATL game is one of two really Fantasy friendly game environments tonight (SAC-DAL the other) as this game has the second highest total (211.5) with a very tight two point spread. Westbrook is very safe for the price, but he’s not a must play if you want to take a more balanced approach when constructing your roster tonight.
Jerryd Bayless (MIL) – With Michael Carter-Williams struggling mightily, Bayless has been inserted into the starting lineup. He played a whopping 43 minutes as a result last night, and he had played 33 and 36 minutes the prior two games with the change looming. Even though Bayless isn’t a strong per minute Fantasy player (0.77 DraftKings points per minute), he’s underpriced based on a starting role. At $4,900 on DraftKings (22 percent discount), an average game should put Bayless right on top of his value threshold if we assume mid-thirties minutes. This matchup should boost Bayless’ efficiency and result in a better than average game, as the Nuggets are 29th in defensive efficiency against point guards.
