Daily Fantasy Rundown – October 28 NBA DFS Picks and Analysis
Welcome to Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Fantasy Rundown with “dinkpiece”, “leonem” and “TheNumbersGuy”. Each day throughout the NBA season our daily NBA scouting reports will highlight the best top, value and cheap plays of the day based on the Daily Fantasy Industry’s pricing for salary cap games. Our goal is to bring analysis that will help you build rosters that put you in position to win consistently over the long term.
Point Guard – Our featured site for the point guard position is DraftKings
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – Westbrook is the top play at the point guard position but his salary on most sites is still inflated from playing last season without Kevin Durant. Since the beginning of the 2013 season, Westbrook has posted an incredible 42.3 percent usage rate with Durant off the floor and a more reasonable 33.6 percent usage rate with Durant in the fold. The matchup with the Spurs should facilitate more looks for Westbrook over Durant. The Spurs will match Durant with the best wing defender in the league (Kawhi Leonard) while Westbrook will likely matchup with a plus defender as well (Danny Green) as the Spurs likely hide Tony Parker on Anthony Roberson. The Thunder starting lineup includes two extremely low usage players (Roberson and Adams) which should allow Durant and Westbrook to still carry an unusually heavy load. With a lot of injuries and suspensions carrying over from last season, Wednesday once again sets up as a viable stars and scrubs evening. We have other high end players we’d like to prioritize and point guard is a pretty deep position so Westbrook is more of a tournament target. He does, however, project as the highest scoring point guard on the board.
